Liberatory
Practice Lab

Liberatory Practice Lab is a membership community for anti-oppressive mental health healing professionals, educators, and students.

Many of us came into this field because we believe something different is possible and we are trying to figure out what that actually looks like from the inside. Most of us are navigating the same friction: doing work rooted in liberation inside institutions, structures, and professional cultures that are actively opposed to it. That tension doesn't go away, but it gets more bearable with the right company.

ACCOUNTABILITY IN ACTION

The Lab is an online space with regular live gatherings for group processing, collective learning, and sitting with the contradictions of this work together. Not to resolve them — the contradictions are real, and we don't think they're supposed to disappear. But there's something different about holding them in community rather than alone: thinking out loud with people who understand the specific weight of this work, building relationships that sustain practice over time, and being reminded that the dissonance you're feeling isn't a sign you're doing it wrong.

The Lab launches September 1st. Join the waitlist — you'll be the first to know when registration opens.

WHO IS THIS COMMUNITY FOR?

  • You're a mental health practitioner, educator, or student who entered the field wanting to do something different than what mainstream training prepared you for.
  • You hold anti-oppressive or decolonial values and don't want to spend your energy defending them before you can dig into the real questions.
  • You're navigating the friction of doing liberatory work inside institutions and systems that weren't built for it.
  • You want ongoing community and you're looking for people to think alongside over time.
  • You're open to learning alongside a range of mental health healing professionals and modalities — including hypnotherapy, somatics, students and educators.
  • You're willing to sit with contradiction and complexity rather than look for a single "right" answer.
  • You want both collective learning and space to process the real, sometimes messy experience of doing this work.
  • You've never heard of anti-oppressive or liberatory practice before and aren't interested in deepening your understanding of these frameworks.
  • You want a purely clinical or technique-focused space; this community centers relationship, reflection, and collective processing as much as skill-building.
  • You only want to engage with conventional clinical or licensed-therapy modalities.
  • You're hoping for definitive answers or a fixed framework to follow — we're more interested in staying in the questions together.
  • You're not looking for ongoing commitment or live engagement — this is a community that gathers regularly and learns from each other.
  • You're still deciding whether anti-oppressive or liberatory practice matters to you — we assume that commitment and build from there, not toward it.

What the group is saying

"This group has helped me find my footing while attempting to process multiple live-streamed genocides. I deeply appreciate the opportunity to connect with others who are also understanding the ways oppressive systems keep us alienated from ourselves and others. Sharing space and being vulnerable with this caring and compassionate group has helped me believe that a better future is indeed possible."

What the group is saying

"The Radical Processing group has been so connecting and supportive for me. It has been great to be able to connect with like-minded people and share how we are all impacted and how we all cope. It has been so nice to have a space where we take care of one another. Kendra has been so helpful and supportive in their own radical politics and how that informs the group, and in holding the space for us. I highly recommend this group for anyone who is feeling lost or alone and wants to connect with other radicals."

What the group is saying

"Growing up in an environment where challenging topics were often ignored or seen through a privileged lens, this group provided me with a space to engage in conversations beyond my own lived experiences. I no longer feel like I’m continuously walking on eggshells during moments of friction, and I’m developing skills for navigating difficult conversations—skills that have strengthened my relationships with both myself and others."

Many of us are craving spaces where we don't have to explain ourselves first and where the shared values are already the ground we're standing on. We deserve professional spaces that value our wholeness and what we're building in the world.
